Azerbaijani vs Uzbek
Azerbaijani and Uzbek sit in the same corner of the writing-system map — Grafle's Latin group — and players mix them up constantly. Here's the fastest way to tell them apart.
The tell
Uzbek Latin uses apostrophe letters o'/g' and no special vowels; Azerbaijani is full of ə.
Side by side
Azerbaijani
Bütün insanlar ləyaqət və hüquqlarına görə azad və bərabər doğulurlar.
Salam, necəsən?
Azərbaycan dili çox gözəldir.
Azerbaijani's own tells
- The schwa ə mid-word is the instant tell — otherwise it looks Turkish, though it also writes q and x, which Turkish never does.

Salom, qalaysiz? Hammasi yaxshimi, do'stim?

Uzbek's own tells
- Apostrophe letters o' and g' (bo'lib, tug'iladi) are uniquely Uzbek Latin.
